The steering wheel is the part of the interior you touch most. These are the reasons owners bring theirs to us.

  • Shiny, slippery grips

    Hands polish the leather where you hold the wheel until it shines and feels slippery.

    The top coat wears through at the grips and the leather starts to peel or crack.

Steering wheel questions

What owners ask us most before they book.

How long does a steering wheel rewrap take?

Usually one business day. If your leather or Alcantara is in our stock, you get your dates right away. If we order it, it usually takes 1 to 1.5 weeks, and we put your exact dates in writing as soon as it arrives.

Will the heated steering wheel still work?

Yes. The heating sits under the leather, and we keep it and wrap the new leather over it the way the factory did.

Leather or Alcantara on the grips?

Leather is the classic, smooth and soft. Alcantara is grippy and matte. Many owners take Alcantara on the grips and leather on the top and bottom. The configurator above shows you both.

Can you match the factory leather and stitching?

Yes. We match the leather, the thread and the stitch to your car, so the wheel looks as it did when it left the factory. Or you pick a new color and thread.

Can you make me a custom steering wheel?

We customize the wheel you have: leather or Alcantara, any of 17 colors, your own thread and a zero mark. Build it in the configurator above and see the price as you go. We do not sell new or carbon wheels, and carbon trim stays as it is.

Do you rewrap Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, BMW M and Porsche steering wheels?

Yes. Pick your wheel in the strip above the configurator: the Mercedes-AMG wheel, the new AMG wheel from the 2025 G 63, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini Urus, BMW M5 or Porsche 911. Other makes and models get the same work, so send photos of yours. A Rolls-Royce wheel can be one color all round or two-tone, one leather outside and another inside.

Can I mail my steering wheel from another state?

Yes. Take the wheel off and ship it to us from anywhere in the US, without the airbag: airbags count as hazardous goods and cannot go in a regular parcel. We rewrap it, usually in one business day from the day after it arrives, and ship it back. Shipping is quoted in your estimate.

What is a zero mark?

A stripe at the top of the rim that shows where straight ahead is, a racing detail. We add it in any color for $50.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Every steering wheel comes with a written 3-year warranty on the leather and the stitching, written in your estimate and on your certificate. Damage we did not cause, such as cuts or scratches, is not covered.

Is it safe to touch the airbag?

We take the wheel out and work on it on the bench. The airbag cover is re-trimmed so it still opens the way it was designed to.

Will the buttons and paddle shifters still work?

Yes. The buttons, the paddles and the trim come off before we start and go back exactly as they were, and we check every one before you pick up the car.

How do I clean an Alcantara steering wheel?

Gently and often, never with harsh cleaners. A soft brush and a cleaner made for Alcantara keep the grips from going shiny. How to clean Alcantara the right way.

How much does it cost to rewrap a steering wheel?

A steering wheel rewrap starts at $690, the airbag cover is $490 and a zero mark adds $50. Build your wheel in the configurator above, or send photos and our manager sends your price within 1 hour during business hours.

Never ship an airbag

Dashboards, steering wheels and many seats carry an airbag with an explosive charge inside. Carriers class it as hazardous material, so have the airbag taken out before you pack the part, and keep it at your shop.
